World Vet Day 2021 was observed on the virtual platforms on 24 April with the theme “Veterinarian response to the Covid-19 crisis”.
During the global pandemic crisis and resultant misfortune, both COVID warriors and vets are faced with the demanding challenges posed by fast mutating cataclysmic contagion by simultaneously keeping up with the psychological and physical well-being of the public and themselves.
Due to disrupted travelling caused by frequent lock-downs, the veterinarians have oriented to tele-medicine services delivery for animal health and care. However, for the visitors to vet hospitals, veterinarians have adapted practices of bio security by wearing protective PPE kits, and social distancing for well-being of animal patients and clients.
It is desirable that the protection of animal and human health is to be done with all good concern during the difficult times.
I have been advocating the animal-assisted therapy for children with special needs and people suffering from depression.
Here the story that did last year on the occasion of World Vet Day 2020 on April 27.
