Decoding the Symbolism of the Bhagavad Gita for a Spiritual Quest

SYMBOLISM IN THE GITA

The story within the sacred text of the Bhagavad Gita employs symbolism to express its teachings. For instance, the chariot symbolizes the body, while the horses symbolize the senses, which are guided by the reins of the intellect.

Similarly, the reference to war can be interpreted as the internal conflict between wisdom or spiritual awareness and ignorance, illustrating the quest for enlightenment and the inner struggle involved in that journey.

Moreover, Kurukshetra, the name of the battlefield, signifies the field of action, representing the body, mind, and senses, whereas Dharmakshetra symbolizes the field of righteousness, which corresponds to the area between the eyebrows and the top of the forehead.

GITA'S MESSAGE: A DECASTICH

Let go of praise, let go of fear,

Act without greed, hold nothing dear.

Detached from gain, from loss, from strife,

Inner peace blooms, a vibrant life.

So do your work, with purpose true,

No need for worry, shining through.

The Gita's song, a steady hand,

To find your peace, and understand.

Lets work and pray, with open hand,

In earthly tasks, a promised land.
