There are reports (Patrika Plus Reporter, Rajasthan Patrika, 12 April, 2025) that AI is being increasingly used both for learning and integration into educational technology to personalize the teaching-learning process since it has the possibilities for automating tasks and improving efficiency..
Now, adaptive learning platforms, chatbots, and intelligent tutoring systems are available catering for individual learner needs and styles.
However, the report in Hindi cautions against the use of AI for short cuts, reckless copy-cut-and-paste use, addiction of AI, cognitive decline, encouragement to similarity-and-uniformity.
AI is also being used by instructors in creating learning material, grading students, providing feedback, and planning instruction but without providing necessary AI-readiness skills and ethics in the use of the AI as a learning tool.
I am of the view that only 20 per cent use of AI be allowed for assignments, topic research and project work while 80 percent informed should be gathered from book resources, human resources and field or on-site visits.
