World Heritage Day, also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites, is celebrated globally every year on April 18. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the diversity of cultural and natural heritage and the ongoing efforts required for its protection and conservation

On the occasion of World Heritage Day 2026, I reproduce my write up "World Heritage Day: A clipping, a collage and haiku" based on my article in merinews, com under 'News from karnataka |Page 1| merinews 5.147.97.142/country/india/state/karnataka Contributed by: Dr. Lalit Kishore." World Heritage Site of Hampi in Karnataka provides glimpses of second biggest ancient medieval-era city with numerous monuments and natural sites.
