International Mother Earth Day is observed annually on April 22, with the goal of increasing global awareness about the challenges facing our planet and the diverse life it sustains. This day also emphasizes our shared duty to foster a harmonious relationship with nature and the Earth, striving for a fair balance between the economic, social, and environmental needs of both current and future generations.

"On this International Mother Earth Day, let’s remind ourselves - now more than ever - that a transition to a more sustainable economy is essential for both people and the planet. Let’s work together to promote harmony with nature and the Earth. Join the worldwide effort to restore our planet!" stated the UN.

The UN highlights the necessity of restoring our ecosystems. These ecosystems are vital for all life on Earth. The better our ecosystems are, the healthier our planet and its inhabitants will be. By rehabilitating our damaged ecosystems, we can help eradicate poverty, tackle climate change, and avert mass extinction. However, success will only be possible if everyone contributes.

Protect Mother Earth from Harmful Actions: Poem

I, Mother Earth gave life and grace,

Now look at me, in this sad space.

My skin is cracked, the rivers weep,

My lungs are filled with smoky sleep.

The oceans groan, a salty tear,

The ice I wore, now disappears.

The creatures small, the creatures grand,

Are fading from this precious land.

Wake up, dear ones, before it's late,

Change your ways, before my fate

Becomes your own, a burning blight,

Choose to heal, and choose the light.

Plant a tree, and clean the shore,

Protect the wild, and ask for more.
