Kishore [1], emphasizes an an institution based rigorous and action planned follow-up of a teacher training for its transfer to classroom. Citing the remarks [2] of a review group after training, it has been suggested that training without a follow up is a futile activity.
In a discussion at the Plenum School in December 2021, it was suggested that a new teacher to the school should be given a (1) three-day induction training about the work culture and social pedagogy of the school along with the instructional pedagogy training of five days in (2) activity based learning for primary grades; (3) multiple intelligence based instruction in middle level grades; and (4) micro-learning cum mastery learning pedagogy at senior school level grades.
Setting up a teacher resource center with a placement of a resident academic adviser was suggested in which the adviser teams up with principal, administrator and vice-principal to focus on improvement in classroom processes and learning outcomes through an action plan that includes quarterly review and mid-course correction workshops.
