Bhagavad Gita Verse
श्रेयान्स्वधर्मोविगुणःपरधर्मात्स्वनुष्ठितात्।
स्वधर्मेनिधनंश्रेयःपरधर्मोभयावहः॥
(Bhagavad Gita 3.35)
'The Bhagavad Gita As It Is' translation of the verse is as follows
It is far better to discharge one’s prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another’s duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one’s own duty is better than engaging in another’s duties, for to follow another’s path is dangerous.
Message: The Gita emphasizes Swadharma - performing one’s own duty selflessly and with sincerity. Stich your duty even if it appears limited or imperfect. Better learn from short falls and self-improve. It is our aim to be committed to your duty with responsiveness and responsibility. Doing one's duty selflessly is is purpose of life
INSPIRED SWADHARMA POEM
Embrace your Swadharma, pure and unconfined, / And do your duty selflessly each day, / With true sincerity of heart and mind / E'en if the path seems limited or gray.
Though flaws and imperfections bar the way, / Learn from your shortfalls, let your spirit grow; / Let self-improvement guide you to display / The grace and wisdom only you can show.
To every task commitment you must owe, / With responsiveness and deep responsibility; / For in the honest seeds of work we sow, /We find our purpose and our dignity.
So walk your righteous path with steady pace, / And meet your destiny with quiet grace

"This (Swadharma) principle aligns with modern discussions on professional ethics, civic responsibility, and leadership integrity. In a globalized society where individuals often face the pressure of imitation, competition, and role conflicts, Swadharma reminds us that authentic responsibility, rooted in one’s nature and context, is superior to borrowed or imposed roles. The message is highly relevant for debates on sustainable leadership, educational responsibility, and role fidelity in multicultural workplaces". (.The 9th IGC concept note) [1]
Kishore (2026) [2] examines Swadharma as an individual's inherent duty, focusing on fulfilling unique responsibilities with honesty and detachment. The article asserts that embracing this personal duty fosters authentic living, well-being, and universal harmony. He views Swadharma as acting in alignment with one's innate nature and authentic character, transforming daily responsibility into purposeful living. This philosophy of the Gita is capable of working as as a path to personal fulfillment through detached action and an antidote to modern stress.
