Updated: Aug 19, 2021

Jaipur based educators and researcher, who has been working in the area of visual intelligence, visual thinking and non-art use art in child development for the last three years, has won the 'Photograph of the Day Award" from Art House (see inset picture) for his click of stage performers .

Dr Kishore has the following to say for better stage photography.

-Photographing stage performances and shows is a visual art since most times performers move rapidly with variations in the stage light and shooting is required from different distances and angles

-The thumb rule to get sharp performance images, set camera settings highest shutter speed along with high ISO and wide aperture. Use a tripod to avoid camera shakes which blur images.

-The ISO level is related to sensitivity to light. A lower ISO value ist used when there sufficient light on the subject. However, while shooting in low light, a higher values of ISO make camera sensitivity to take reasonably lit image. Ina way, the three elements that lead to a good picture relate to setting of (1) ISO level (2) f/stop or aperture and (3) shutter speed. These should be manually set before take a picture.

-Learn to practice PRO or Professional Mode in smart phone camera allows us to manually adjust multiple parameters to make sure you get a good picture any time.

Other main tips with smartphone camera are as follows

-Exposure mode be set manual set at highest shutter speed or use sports mode

-Aperture should be wide open

-Shutter Speed 1/100- to available fastest

-High ISO values at or beyond 1600 / highest available

-Auto white balance may be used
